Wondering why my points will not display on my screen as i create them, until i use the update command At john's location, in his zone ii coordinate system, a 2ppm shift would only be about 14' in either the northeast or southwest direction. They work in my other drawings, just not the one i'm currently working in.

If this is left to the default false, civil 3d will search through the description keys first, when no match is found, no style will be assigned to the point and civil 3d will move on to the top level point group that contains the points. Probably not a units issue I realized i was skipping over some things thinking they weren't surveyed when i realized that none of the symbols for any cogo point was showing up
I've definately xref'd drawings with cogo points and survey points without issue in the past, so this is a fairly new issue to me.
Importing survey points correctly is the first step toward using them effectively Civil 3d supports importing points from csv, txt, or field book (fbk) files generated by survey instruments. I am trying to label some spot elevations using the surface, but the points never show up I have turned on all of my layers and made sure every point group is setup to show the points and labels
I even tried to create miscellaneous points and they don't show up. A coworker sent me the project i am working on and had already uploaded the survey points from a.txt file I can see them all in the prospector tab when i right click points, but can't get them to display even when i go into the existing ground point group and change the display value to true. Hello, i have imported c3d/cogo points into my drawing (create points → import points → add file (s))
After doing this, all the points show up like they should, but i have two issues
1) i want to know which file the imported points came from, but i can't see that information anywhere. My engineer wants to see spot elevations when he hovers in certain areas, so i dref'd the surface into his working drawing However, when the dref surface has its contours turned on, they don't come in on top of the xref'd version. Importing surveys done in microstation causes havoc in autocad including coordinate problems where there is no way to align the drawings properly unless you use brute force (moving the drawings to align them).
